The Ghetto

Living in the ghetto
is not an easy life
you have to really struggle and fight
to do whats right

Some dreams becomes lost
you don't wanna know at what cost
endless tears shed daily
because its not a simple life story

Young boys become men by night
fighting nonetheless with all their might
to become the sole breadwinner
losing sleep so they can feed their mother

Young girls become ladies in a minute
losing their virginity, well i guess all dats in it
trying vigorously to fit in with the popular crowd
sometimes its annoying, they get so vulgar and loud

Many mornings you have no food to eat
the only thing you can hear is your own heartbeat
you wonder and wonder when will it end
oh where is the father, i thought he was just around the bend

All the new cell phones
all the new gadgets
all the new headphones
all the new wallets
you really really need to have them
even if you have to give up your priced gem

Sometimes you even wonder why you were born
to go through these struggles, it leaves you so torn
but you get your strength from God above
although you sometimes wonder..where is his love

To grow up in the ghetto you must be strong
i tell you, its like singing the same old song
you have to rise up in the community
to make a better life for you and your family
